About the position

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cashbook Accounts Clerk to join our finance team in Bloemfontein. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records related to the company's cashbook, processing invoices, and using SAGE 300 accounting software. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and prior experience in a similar role.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile daily cashbook entries across multiple bank accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timeous recording of receipts and payments.
  • Process customer and supplier invoices.
  • Allocate and match payments correctly within the accounting system.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve cashbook discrepancies.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding payment queries.
  • Provide support for audits and financial reporting as required.
  • Use SAGE 300 system for all relevant finance transactions.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a cashbook or similar accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SAGE 300 (essential).
  • Experience in invoicing and accounts reconciliation.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
