About the position
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient CAD Designer. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing technical drawings, schematics, and project documentation. Exposure to Corporate Audio-Visual design or similar technical environments will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate CAD drawings, schematics, and documentation for various technical and installation projects
- Interpret engineering and project requirements into detailed technical designs
- Update and maintain drawing standards, templates, and project files
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and installation teams
- Ensure all designs align with specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements
- Assist with revisions, technical problem-solving, and project planning
- Support AV system layout and documentation (if experienced in AV design)
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ professional experience as a CAD Designer
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with additional CAD or 3D software is beneficial)
- Solid understanding of technical drawing standards and best practices
- Experience with Corporate AV, low-voltage, or technical system drawings (advantageous)
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
- Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence
- Must be willing to work full-time from the Cape Town office
Preferred Skills (Advantageous)
- Experience preparing AV system schematics, layouts, rack elevations, and cable schedules
- Knowledge of AV equipment, structured cabling, and technical installation environments
- Familiarity with Revit, SketchUp, or similar modelling tools
