About the position

Well established company in Kempton Park seeks a Technical Buyer
Minimum Requirements 

• Matric 
• Be highly skilled with Microsoft Word and Excel 
• 5 years experience in purchasing and costing
• Previous ERP system experience 
• Previous experience in foreign buying 
• Work with minimum supervision
• Work under pressure
• Ability to work overtime

Duties will include:

Review Valve Material Lists

• Check Purchasing and Inventory requirements on the Valve Material List and decide what needs buying and what should be in inventory.
• Sign and return to Production Planner

 
Purchasing Materials (Production)

• Purchasing of all goods and services for factory production from the ERP system.
• Items to be purchased from the Jobs in the ERP system
• Purchasing to be done as Long term, Medium term and immediate for production.
• Combine as many items on a supplier PO as practical.
• Print PO, sign, scan and email to supplier.
• Give PO’s to Planner

Purchasing Outwork (Production)

• Purchasing of outwork on the ERP system.
• Travellers, received from inspection, are used to do the Purchase orders
• Print PO’s in duplicate, record PO number on Traveller and return to Inspection.

Purchasing Consumable and General Requirements

• All items not of a production nature are purchased on the ERP system.
• A requisition is required from the person requiring the item or items, and the order can be placed.
• A general ledger code is entered into the system.
• Print PO, sign, scan, and email to supplier.
• Give PO’s to Admin Clerk
• Manage Imported items
• Place orders on foreign suppliers
• Safety Stock Levels
• Time phased requirements
• Set up Imported VAT and Duty receipts for Materials Controller

 Inventory Items

• Managing the Materials Controller
• Manage financial year end stock take with materials controller
• Generate weekly cycle counts for Materials Controller
• Weekly and monthly clearing of stock locations i.e. WIP & Workshop
• Inventory items must be regularly reviewed based on the following:
• Safety Stock Levels
• Time phased requirements
• Work Orders are opened on ERP system for required parts.
• PO’s are generated 
• It is important that the value of stock is carefully monitored and controlled at financially viable levels.
