About the position
- Identifying suppliers and maintaining comprehensive, up-to-date data on all suppliers, prices, and lead times.
- Raising and expediting all purchase orders (orders above R250k require third-party approval) in a timely manner in response to business requests.
- Expediting delivery of orders and making special arrangements for delivery; advising the relevant departments of the expected delivery dates and any changes.
- Following up on back orders and providing accurate, responsive information on the status
- of all outstanding orders.
Liaising with company technical staff to ensure that technical specifications are met for all purchasing requirements.
Coordinating with stores regarding purchase receipts.
Following up on short deliveries or incorrect deliveries with suppliers.
Entering agreed/approved creditor details into Syspro as required.
Evaluating vendor performance.
Sourcing alternate vendors or supplies during periods of shortages or stockouts.
