About the position

Our Client is looking for a  Butler to join their team
Location: Stellenbosch
 
 Main Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests using the appropriate levels of discretion, always using the correct forms of address.
• Assist with guest check-in and check-out processes, including offering valet services.
• Offer to unpack and settle guests into rooms or suites, explaining all available services and facilities in detail.
• Assist with itinerary planning and the booking of restaurants, activities, and excursions.
• Provide personalized service with urgency, dedication, and attention to detail, ensuring a positive and memorable guest experience.
• Develop and maintain detailed records of guest preferences, including allergies, likes, and dislikes, ensuring information is communicated accurately to relevant departments for current and future visits while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
• Communicate promptly and accurately with other departments to facilitate the delivery of requested products and services and follow up on all guest requests.
• Assist with guest transfers and excursions, acting as a private host and guide both on and off the property when required.
• Participate in housekeeping duties before, during, and after guest stays, including daily cleaning and turndown services.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage offerings and provide personalized in-room dining experiences, including breakfast setup and preparation in collaboration with kitchen staff when required.
• Demonstrate detailed knowledge of wines, spirits, and food pairings.
• Support other departments to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
• Identify and communicate opportunities to improve service quality and guest satisfaction.
• Process guest charges accurately across various systems, including restaurant POS and property management platforms.

 Experience and Skills

• Previous experience as a Butler, Concierge, Guest Relations Officer, or within a luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Proficiency in using restaurant POS systems.
• Excellent local area knowledge and ability to recommend attractions, restaurants, and activities.
• Technical proficiency in operating in-room technology and guest service systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and guest relations skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Extensive knowledge of food, beverages, wines, and spirits.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to remain courteous, professional, and calm under pressure while delivering outstanding guest service.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Matric Certificate.
• Food, Beverage, or Wine Certification would be advantageous.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Flexibility to assist across multiple departments when required.
• Strong customer service orientation and commitment to excellence.
