About the position
Role Summary
To manage and govern business systems and master data integrity across SAP, VBS, and other business-critical platforms supporting Rest of Africa (ROA) retail operations. The role is responsible for leading system implementations, enhancements, and new developments across ROA countries, ensuring consistent processes, high-quality data, and effective system usage. This position enables efficient store and commercial operations through training, stakeholder collaboration, system governance, and the delivery of accurate, timely management reporting.

Relevant commercial, IT, or systems qualification
7-10 years' experience in a retail systems or business systems environment
Strong SAP and retail operations exposure
The role involves travel to Rest of Africa countries when required to support in-country teams, system implementations, and store openings

Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
Own and govern business systems and master data processes across ROA to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with Pick n Pay standards
Lead and support system implementations, enhancements, and rollouts across ROA countries
Provide training and upskilling on relevant SAP modules to ensure team and store competency
Train stores on service area processes, margin management, and system usage to support budget achievement
Provide operational systems support across inventory, roster orders, receiving, and frontline processes, resolving queries timeously
Resolve supply chain-related system and data queries in collaboration with internal stakeholders
Ensure alignment of Pick n Pay retail initiatives and system changes with ROA operational requirements
Prepare, analyse, and interpret daily, weekly, and monthly management reports, highlighting trends, risks, and deviations for corrective action
Support ROA Buyers with system reports, listings, and process execution, including new article creation
Ensure accurate data reporting for foreign territories and compliance with reporting standards
Liaise with the Data Management and IT teams to resolve data and system-related issues
Support new store openings through system setup, data readiness, testing, and go-live support
Lead and coordinate new initiatives and projects from concept through to implementation, working with business partners and external stakeholders
Assess the financial, operational, and strategic viability of new initiatives and new launches in line with business objectives
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure initiatives are executed according to agreed timelines and business objectives
Support corporate and Africa division reporting requirements
