About the position
We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Business Systems Analyst for a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will work closely with senior business leaders across various operating divisions to identify business needs and translate them into effective technology solutions. This role requires a blend of deep technical knowledge, strong business acumen, and excellent stakeholder management skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the entire solution lifecycle, from initial requirement gathering to deployment and user training. Key Responsibilities: Business and System Analysis: Qualifications and Experience:
- Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to understand strategic goals and define business requirements.
- Analyse existing business processes and technologies to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for automation.
- Conduct feasibility studies and a cost-benefit analysis for new systems or enhancements.
- Define detailed functional and non-functional requirements and create comprehensive documentation (e.g., BRDs, user stories, process flows). Solution Design and Development Advisory:
- Investigate and evaluate potential off-the-shelf solutions and advise on their suitability.
- Work closely with the internal development team, providing technical guidance and clarity on system requirements.
- Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and the development team to ensure the delivered solution aligns with business needs.
- Leverage strong technical knowledge in development tools, particularly with C#, to advise on solution architecture and technical feasibility. Implementation and Project Management Support:
- Support the project manager in planning and executing project activities.
- Oversee and manage the user acceptance testing (UAT) process, ensuring solutions meet defined requirements.
- Develop and implement a change management strategy to facilitate a smooth transition for users.
- Create training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users on new systems or features. Technology Landscape Management:
- Demonstrate proficiency and experience with various enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, including JDE and Syspro, with a foundational understanding of other major ERP platforms like SAP.
- The role may involve working on a wide range of systems, including but not limited to mobile development applications, SCADA systems, weighbridge technology, ERP, finance systems, and payroll integrations. Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role, with a strong focus on technical delivery.
- Highly technically competent: Extensive experience with development tools and methodologies, with a strong emphasis on C#.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP systems, specifically JDE and Syspro.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in managing the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Experience with UAT, change management, and user training.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analysis, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) would be an advantage.
- At least 10 years' experience in a similar role
- At least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
