About the position

Red Ember recruitment is recruiting for a Business Intelligent Developer for our client in the East of Johannesburg. The BI Developer will be responsible for creating, managing, and optimising Microsoft Power BI dashboards and reports
RequirementsReport and Dashboard Development

• Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI to provide insights for various business units.
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  
• Ensure dashboards are optimised for performance and user experience.
  

Data Integration and Modelling

• Build and maintain Power BI datasets, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  
• Use Power Query and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for data transformation and modelling.
  
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including Snowflake, SQL Server, and other enterprise systems.
  

Data Analysis and Insights

• Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  
• Work closely with business units to interpret and present data in a meaningful way.
  
• Develop self-service BI capabilities for end users.
  
  

Infrastructure and Security

• Ensure Power BI workspaces, reports, and datasets comply with company data governance and security policies.
  
• Manage user access and permissions within the Power BI service.
  

Collaboration and Training

• Collaborate with the Head of Data and IT teams to align BI solutions with organisational strategy.
  
• Provide training and support to business users for effective use of Power BI tools.
  
  

Continuous Improvement

• Monitor and enhance the performance of existing Power BI solutions.
  
• Keep up to date with the latest Power BI features and best practices.
  
• Propose and implement improvements to BI processes and tools.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field.
  
• At least 3 years of experience as a BI Developer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on Microsoft Power BI.
