Business Intelligence (BI) Developer
CORE PURPOSE
MANCOSA is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our data team. The BI Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions that transform raw data into meaningful insights. The ideal candidate should have a passion for data, strong analytical skills, and experience with BI tools and data modelling.
Duties & Responsibilities
CORE FUNCTIONS
• Design, develop, and deploy BI solutions (e.g., dashboards, reports, data visualisations).
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Build and maintain data models, data marts, and OLAP cubes.
• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs.
• Optimise existing BI solutions for performance and scalability.
• Maintain and support the BI platform, ensuring data accuracy and report integrity.
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.
• Create documentation for BI solutions, processes, and best practices.
• Support data governance and data quality initiatives.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or in a team.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• BI or Data Analytics certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist).
• Experience in Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
• Background in higher education.
