About the position
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team.
We are looking for a cross-skilled individual who can analyse business and systems requirements, recommend appropriate software and non-software solutions, and build Business Intelligence dashboards to support organizational decision-making.
As a Business Intelligence Analyst (Business and Data), you will play a crucial role in supporting data-related activities across the organization. You will collect, analyse, and present data insights that inform decision-making and drive business growth, while also building and maintaining BI dashboards. You will elicit business and systems requirements, collaborate with business and software teams, and assess the feasibility and ROI of proposed solutions.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Business Requirements: Gather and document business and system requirements for software development and BI solutions, ensuring all project documentation meets company standards.
- Workshops & Solution Design: Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to capture objectives and outcomes, and create detailed solution design documents.
- User Acceptance Testing: Coordinate and conduct UAT to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Data Management: Collect, compile, and clean data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness for analysis.
- Data Analysis: Perform detailed data analysis using statistical methods and visualization tools, summarizing insights in clear and actionable reports.
- Data Visualization: Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI (preferred), Tableau, or Excel to present key business metrics.
- Reporting: Produce regular and ad-hoc reports to communicate insights and performance metrics to business and management teams.
- Data Quality & Integrity: Monitor and maintain data quality by identifying and resolving discrepancies, conducting integrity checks, and establishing quality assurance protocols.
- Research & Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with BI trends, tools, and techniques to improve reporting capabilities and business analysis processes.
- Innovation: Identify opportunities where technology and data can optimize business processes and ROI; contribute innovative ideas across the business.
- Project Delivery: Manage the full delivery lifecycle from stakeholder engagement through implementation and post-support.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse environments and best practices.
- Proven experience in Power BI and SQL programming (essential).
- 3+ years’ experience as a Business or Data Analyst.
- Business Analysis certification/diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in data tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or R.
- Experience with SSIS/SSRS advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
