Business Finance Leader

About the position

We are seeking a dynamic Executive: Business Finance to partner with the CEO in driving a powerful mandate: enabling entrepreneurs to establish, manage and grow sustainable businesses through expert loan assessments, investment support and sound financial oversight.

As the Executive: Business Finance, you will take charge of:

?? Strategic Leadership & Policy Development - Drive the development and implementation of cutting-edge business processes, operational plans and compliance frameworks.
?? Operational Excellence - Oversee performance reporting, service delivery improvements, business systems enhancements and adherence to legislation and SOPs.
?? End-to-End Loan Oversight - Direct and evaluate the full loan application lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, quality and robust verification processes.
?? Risk & Governance Management - Proactively identify risks, implement mitigation strategies and uphold best-practice governance principles.
?? Budgeting & Financial Control - Lead budgeting processes, monitor capex, oversee variances and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
?? Stakeholder & Partnership Development - Build strategic partnerships, enhance organisational visibility and secure support networks for clients.
?? Business Support & Intervention - Guide initiatives for distressed businesses and strengthen non-financial and financial support platforms.
?? People Leadership - Shape the business unit's structure, manage performance, motivate staffing requirements and ensure optimal service delivery.
?? Market Intelligence - Monitor competitor activity and respond strategically to market shifts.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Business Management, Commercial Law, or equivalent.
• MBA is an added advantage.

Experience

• 8-10 years in a financial institution (banking, development finance or economic development).
• 5-7 years must be at senior management level.

?? Functional Competencies

• Strong computer literacy (MS Office).
• Expertise in financial planning, forecasting, corporate governance, and public financial management.
• Deep understanding of risk management frameworks, credit risk assessment, due diligence, financial modelling and fraud prevention.
• Solid knowledge of legislation including Banks Act, FAIS, FICA, NCA.
• Sales acumen, market knowledge and strong research/analytical capabilities.
• Excellent understanding of business operations and investment packaging.
• Valid Driver's Licence.
