Milkor Integrated Systems is seeking a recent engineering graduate to join our team as Business Development Technical Support. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure across engineering, business development, and client engagement in the high-performance defence and aerospace sector. You'll play a vital role in supporting strategic initiatives, facilitating technical discussions, and driving client-focused activities alongside the Business Development team.
We're looking for someone with strong technical aptitude, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to operate confidently in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Business Development team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through technical input and documentation support.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and commercial stakeholders to ensure clear, timely communication of programme updates and client requirements.
- Participate in regular programme meetings to maintain awareness of project developments and proactively support technical and commercial alignment.
- Engage daily with the engineering and integration teams to gather updates, enhance technical knowledge, and provide real-time feedback to the Business Development function.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing system costing documentation and commercial proposals using Microsoft Excel and internal tools.
- Contribute to the drafting, proofreading, and reviewing of contracts, End User Certificates (EUCs), and other legal documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate and host client visits, including system demonstrations and facility tours, to support relationship management and business acquisition efforts.
- Attend meetings with suppliers and external stakeholders alongside the Business Development and Engineering teams to provide technical support and capture key information.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive positioning to contribute to strategic decision-making.
- Provide general support to senior executives on business development-related tasks as required.
Requirements
Qualification & experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, or Industrial )
- Minimum of 85% Matric average (compulsory requirement)
- 0-5 years of experience in a technical, business development or client-facing role.
Technical and Administrative Skills:
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to understand technical concepts and relay them accurately in a business context.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and/or project management tools is advantageous.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Professional conduct when dealing with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Analytical and Organisational Skills:
- Attention to detail especially in document review and data handling.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Initiative and problem-solving ability in an unstructured, fast-paced environment.
