About the position
This position is responsible for growing and managing the portfolio of accessories and new products for our client in the building construction, plumbing, automotive, sound insulation and mining sector. The representative is expected to visit project sites, meet with the relevant professionals and building contractors to have products used on the projects. This will involve formal presentations, arranging of webinars, as well as site meetings. The role comprises the SADC region therefore some cross-border travel may be required. The representative is expected to build and maintain a network and database of projects and the relevant connections across SADC.
Job Specifications -
- Investigate and qualify quoting opportunities for our range of automotive aftermarket, glass and aluminium seals, sound proofing and sound insulation and accessories for aftermarket and construction.
- Host and conduct training presentations and webinars to all relevant buyers and contractors as well as professional teams (PR, ENG, QS, Architect ect)
- Build & maintain central file of customer contracts and decision makers and keep it up to date
- Assist to open new accounts and credit terms for new customers
- Monitor and ensure payment of invoices/accounts
- Stay up to date on customer affair to avoid defaults
- Prompt and accurate submission of customer complaints and quality concerns
- Manage existing portfolio of wholesaler accounts
- Ensure that price updates are communicated promptly to customers
- Align company capabilities with customer requirements Customer orders loaded on receipt of orders
- Order checked - item code, price, quality, required date, delivery address
- Production planning requirements co-ordinated with PPC
- Stock holding requirements co-ordinated with Logistics department
- Plan and maintain sufficient import stock levels to meet project demands
- Utilise L2B to track projects and LinkedIn to identify key stakeholders
- Report to Sales Manager on meeting & key activities - weekly
- Report to Exco on results - Monthly
- Target vs Actual - Quarter to date
- Reasons / drivers for excess / shortfall
- New projects / RFQS of interest

Requirements -
- Minimum 5 years sales experience within the automotive industry and/or construction sector
- Detailed understanding of procurement processes in the building construction / and or mining sector
- Comfortable with planning and reporting of sales activities.
- Traceable history of success in previous sales roles
- Experience with stock planning and control
- Willing to travel and work remotely
- Competency with Microsoft Office suite
