About the position
Are you an experienced Business Development Manager or Technical Sales professional within the water pump, wastewater pump or pumping industry seeking a new opportunity with a growing company?
An exciting opportunity is available for a commercially driven professional to grow business across key infrastructure and industrial markets within the Western Cape.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new opportunities, managing strategic relationships and providing customers and channel partners with technically suitable pumping solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive revenue growth across assigned market segments and product solutions
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the water pump and wastewater pump market
- Build and maintain relationships with engineering consultants, contractors, developers
- Develop business through direct sales as well as appointed dealers and distribution partners
- Provide ongoing technical and commercial support to dealers and customers
- Identify project opportunities and engage with stakeholders from specification through to delivery
- Work with internal technical teams to recommend suitable equipment based on customer and project requirements
- Implement agreed sales and marketing initiatives to grow market share
- Monitor pricing and commercial activity within the assigned territory
- Manage customer relationships and ensure accurate CRM records and sales activity tracking
- Develop account and territory plans to support future sales growth
- Assist with resolving customer or dealer issues and maintaining strong channel relationships
- Travel regularly to customers, projects, dealers and industry stakeholders
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in technical sales, business development or commercial roles within a technical equipment environment
- Experience in pumps, wastewater pumps, water pumps industry is highly advantageous
- Technical qualification or relevant engineering degree preferred
- Experience working with engineering consultants, construction companies, developers advantageous
- Strong commercial and technical understanding with the ability to discuss solutions with customers
- Experience working with CRM, sales reporting or business intelligence systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills
- Strong negotiation, planning and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated, target-driven and comfortable working independently
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel frequently
- Must reside in the Western Cape.
