The Role: Business Development Manager
As Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for driving revenue growth, forming strategic partnerships, and helping scale the business beyond its current founder-led model. This is a hybrid role combining sales strategy, systems thinking, and entrepreneurial execution. You'll work closely with the founder to develop scalable sales infrastructure, grow the client base, and lead commercial operations with a long-term growth lens.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimum 5 years experience in business development, sales, or commercial strategy
- Design and execute business development strategies to drive revenue and client acquisition
- Build scalable systems for lead generation, conversion, and pipeline management
- Manage the full sales cycle from outreach to closing
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships (corporate, affiliate, JV, referral)
- Collaborate with the founder on scaling the business to a systemised, multi-team structure
- Define, track, and report on key KPIs across sales and marketing funnels
- Contribute to operational systems, SOPs, and commercial planning
- Represent the brand with confidence in meetings, events, and pitches
About You
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales strategy, or partnerships
- Strong background in coaching, consulting, personal development, or professional services
- Experience scaling a business from founder-led to team-driven
- Strategic and systems-oriented, with hands-on implementation ability
- Data-driven mindset comfortable working with dashboards, KPIs, and insights
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-evolving environment
- Familiar with CRMs, marketing automation, and project management tools
- Cape Town-based, able to work hybrid (remote + in-person meetings)
- Bonus: Interest or background in psychology, behaviour change, or human transformation
