A dynamic organization based in Cape Town is looking to employ a Business Development Manager with minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales or business development
Minimum Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Formal Qualification (Highly Advantageous)
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- 3 – 5 years’ experience
- Valid Drivers License and own vehicle
- Candidate can come from any industry / sector
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Persuasive negotiation and presentation abilities
- Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently
- Proactively identify and target potential clients through market research, networking, and industry engagement.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Conduct cold calling, schedule meetings, and engage with prospective clients to effectively introduce Kargo’s logistics services and value proposition.
- Client Relationship Management
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with both new and existing clients to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Serve as the primary point of contact during the onboarding phase, addressing customer queries and ensuring a smooth transition.
- Gain a deep understanding of client needs and operational challenges to develop and recommend tailored logistics solutions.
- Sales Strategy and Execution
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, proposals, and tenders that align with client requirements and company objectives.
- Negotiate pricing, service levels, and contract terms to secure profitable and sustainable business partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of client requirements post-sale.
- Market Research and Analysis
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify new opportunities for growth.
- Provide regular feedback and insights to management on customer preferences, emerging markets, and potential areas for service improvement.
- Reporting and Administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records within the CRM system, ensuring proper documentation of leads, interactions, and progress.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts for management review.
