About the position
Our client, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, is looking for a talented and driven Business Development Manager to join them. This is a fantastic opportunity for a sales professional to help grow the business, build key relationships, and close high-impact deals in a rapidly expanding industry.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Engineering with Sales Experience.
- 5+ years of sales experience with a proven track record achieving sales targets.
- PPA sales experience is highly favorable.
- Experience in the renewable energy sector (PV and BESS).
- An existing network of potential clients and partners (EPCs/commission agents) across the South African commercial & industrial sector is a significant advantage.
- A strong understanding of solar financial products, financial modeling, and commercial contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales: Generate revenue by managing the entire sales process from lead generation to closing, including prospecting, pitching, proposal generation, and contract negotiations.
- Deal Management: Take ownership of deals, collaborating with internal teams to clear up all technical, financial, and regulatory aspects.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key industry players to ensure satisfaction and drive business growth.
- Reporting: Analyze sales metrics, manage your prospect list, and provide regular performance updates to management using the company's CRM tool.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to identify new business opportunities.
