Insurance Business Development Manager with a focus on Heavy Commercial Vehicle Insurance (HCV)
KEY RESULT AREAS
- Researching and evaluating new product opportunities, the demand for potential products and client's/brokers needs and insights, particularly in the HCV market.
- Develop an annual marketing plan along with Head of Sales and Marketing detailing year's activities and agreed company objectives.
- Involved with the overall marketing strategy and execution of plans for existing products.
- Communication of new product development to both staff and brokers.
- Attendance and presenting at various events within the passenger transport industry (i.e bus, taxi, e-hailing, shuttle services etc.)
- Ensuring effective marketing communications, both internally and externally, including website maintenance, print communication, advertising, branding etc.
- Analysing the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
- Conduct market research in order to identify market requirements for current and future products.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing brokers, including extensive countrywide travel.
- Identify and penetrate untapped areas of the taxi market and build new relationships with the passenger transport industry, this includes Associations, brokers, financiers, OEM's and group companies.
- Reporting on new business, broker visits, loss rations, cancellations etc.
- Keep abreast with the legislative environment.
- Proven track record of developing and managing HCV portfolio.
- Continuous competitor and market analysis and providing feedback of such analysis to other areas within the company (i.e. Product, Pricing, Underwriting, Claims and Recoveries)
- Proactive portfolio management, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken where necessary
- Participate in the budget process and ensure budget/targets are achieved
- Broker product training
- Report Writing
REQUIREMENTS
- Matric
- Tertiary Qualification
- 2 - 3 years claims and underwriting experience
- 5 - 7 years business development experience in the HCV industry preferable.
- Representative Exam (RE5)
- MS Word and Excel - Intermediate
- Excellent Computer Literacy
- Must have your driver's license and own vehicle and be able to travel extensively within SA.
- Proficient in a variety of local languages.
- Self starter -effective diary management
