About the position

Are you a seasoned Business Development professional with experience covering the North and West African territories,  looking for an exciting new prospect? Our client, who is a leader in the belting industry, is looking for an individual with a strong technical sales background. Head office is based in Boksburg, and the travelling will be in the African territories, once or twice in the month.
Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in the Industrial / Sales / Manufacturing Industry.
  • Matric and valid drivers’ license.
  • Valid passport.
  • Minimum Certificate / Diploma in the Industrial / Sales / Finance Industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in Project / Business development environment.
  • Experience travelling in North and West Africa, and willingness to travel long distances.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Projects / Mining Industry.
  • Knowledge of the Customers you are dealing with.
  • Business Acumen for decision making.
  • Planning Skills to maximize resources and managing time effectively.
  • Project and product management.
  • Tender compilation and submission requirements.
  • Knowledge of Industry specifications and standards.
  • Computer Skills – Advanced Microsoft Office Suite. (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Problem solving and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Technical product knowledge (Conveyor Equipment).

Job description:

  • Business development in the designated territory.
  • Customer retention / growth.
  • Sustaining current business and grow new relationships.
  • Identify potential new customers who are currently not being serviced.
  • Identify new channel partners.
  • Expand existing channels / partners / customers into new products.
  • Developing OEM Business.
  • Stakeholder Management.
  • Assist other departments with issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Site surveys and Inspections in order to provide the customer with expert advice.
  • Coordinate site survey reports and technical recommendations.
  • Write visit reports and recommendations after visiting new customers / channel partners / regions.
