About the position

A Well Established company on the East rand of Gauteng seeks  Business Development Executive to drive new business.
 







Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across mining, agriculture, construction, oil, gas, and related industries.
  • Develop and implement strategic business growth plans to increase revenue and expand market presence.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and cross-selling initiatives.
  • Lead the full sales cycle from lead generation and proposal development to negotiation and closing of deals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and decision-makers across Africa.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs.
  • Prepare and deliver business proposals, presentations, forecasts, and sales reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including contracts, marketing, legal, and operations to ensure successful service delivery.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline progress, and revenue growth targets.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality management systems (QMS), and health & safety requirements.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to generate new business leads.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • MBA or Commercial Master’s Degree will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in business development or sales within supply chain, logistics, mining, or related industries.
  • Proven experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior management role leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated success in developing markets and driving business growth across Africa.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Results-driven with a proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/sales systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Africa.
