About the position
A Well Established company on the East rand of Gauteng seeks Business Development Executive to drive new business.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across mining, agriculture, construction, oil, gas, and related industries.
- Develop and implement strategic business growth plans to increase revenue and expand market presence.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and cross-selling initiatives.
- Lead the full sales cycle from lead generation and proposal development to negotiation and closing of deals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and decision-makers across Africa.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs.
- Prepare and deliver business proposals, presentations, forecasts, and sales reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams including contracts, marketing, legal, and operations to ensure successful service delivery.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline progress, and revenue growth targets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality management systems (QMS), and health & safety requirements.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to generate new business leads.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- MBA or Commercial Master’s Degree will be advantageous.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in business development or sales within supply chain, logistics, mining, or related industries.
- Proven experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior management role leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated success in developing markets and driving business growth across Africa.
- Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Results-driven with a proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/sales systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Africa.
