About The Role:
We are looking for a motivated individual with expertise in technical equipment listings, who will primarily focus on selling online advertising space. The ideal candidate should understand how to position and market technical products (Engineering, Mining, Industrial, Manufacturing, Construction, etc.) effectively while driving advertising sales. This role requires strong communication, negotiation skills, and the ability to build lasting client relationships within the industrial sector.
This position is self-managed in nature, and will encompass social media marketing, traditional marketing, and digital marketing as well as handling communications and community engagement, while creating and increasing brand awareness, driving increased sales and enhancing the customer experience.
We're looking for someone passionate to nurture the brand and make it something identifiable and truly remarkable.
The ideal candidate is charismatic, pro-active, and au fait with social and digital marketing of extremely high-end, luxury brands on multiple platforms to different market segments/ target markets
Role Overview:
- Drive growth for the website through field-based business development.
- Expand marketing outreach, grow subscription-based services, and manage product listings.
- Focus on OEMs, manufacturers, and clients in electrical, pneumatic, and automation sectors. (Examples: anyone who sells & wants to advertise their products at a very reasonable rate.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively canvas and visit OEM, manufacturing, and industrial clients.
- Present and demonstrate platform benefits, services, and product listing opportunities.
- Develop tailored marketing and subscription strategies for client acquisition and retention.
- Build and manage a pipeline of high-value accounts in target sectors.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and optimized product listings.
- Monitor competitor pricing and presence, report on market trends.
- Produce monthly reports on subscription uptake, listing performance, and KPIs.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven track record in field-based business development or sales.
- Experience with supplier ecosystems similar to electrical or pneumatic components.
- Established network in OEM and manufacturing sectors in Gauteng.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable with online platforms and guiding clients through digital processes.
- Self-motivated, capable of managing own territory and targets.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports directly to the Managing Director.
- Create and send regular newsletters/ mailers.
- Build an online audience through our website and social media - stay up to date with the latest trends
- Platforms (available but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, WhatsApp, YouTube, MailChimp (or similar)
- Branding & Marketing
- Be proactive in developing content and media opportunities - visit sites, take photos/ videos, form relationships to receive usable content.
- Maintain and update all necessary internal and external stationery/signage/displays/marketing and keep in line with brand identity..
- Ensure all marketing material is relevant, up to date and corresponds well with each other.
- Be available to attend events, host stands, working closely with the sales team.
- Build relationships with partners (architects, contractors, suppliers, service providers) and grow the database of contacts.
- Establish the company's key communication message and plans to get this message out across trade, media, direct customers, public relations, advertising, trade shows, website, social media, and digital marketing.
- Assist in event organising/planning.
Requirements
o Marketing related tertiary qualification preferred
o 1-3 years' experience within a strategic marketing role
o Expertise in a range of design programs including but not limited to
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, CapCut or similar.
o Basic video editing and photography skills will be a bonus
o Strong understanding of SEO/ SEM
o Google analytics certification
o Presentation and public speaking abilities
o Ability to fit into a close-knit "family" style team
o Be creative, proactive, interactive and goal orientated
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary: R26,000 - R32,000 CTC/month, based on experience & existing package.
- Commission based on new subscriptions and revenue from product listings.
- Fuel/travel allowance, mobile support, and performance bonuses.
