Business Development Director | Head of Sales (L&D Solutions)

Location: Remote/Hybrid (South Africa) | Occasional Local & International Travel

Salary: R65K - R90K CTC/month + Commission/incentives

Are you a bold, visionary dealmaker ready to land enterprise-level sales in the Learning & Development space?
We're looking for a Business Development Director (or Head of Sales) with serious firepower - someone who sees opportunity at scale and knows how to turn it into high-value, long-term partnerships.

This is not a cold-calling, script-following role. It's for a heavyweight sales strategist who can engage C-suite stakeholders, develop tailored L&D solutions, and close R1m+ deals consistently. The successful candidate will join a respected national training provider known for its innovation, credibility, and impactful programmes - and will play a pivotal role in expanding its footprint locally and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Identify and close large-scale corporate partnerships (retail, FMCG, financial services, hospitality, etc.)
  • Build trusted relationships at executive level and act as a strategic advisor
  • Tailor complex L&D solutions aligned with QCTO and client requirements
  • Collaborate with product and delivery teams to shape client-specific offerings
  • Influence go-to-market strategy, brand positioning, and future sales capability
  • Represent the business at senior stakeholder engagements, including international meetings
  • Prepare to lead and build a high-performing sales team over time

What We're Looking For

  • Proven success in complex B2B sales, ideally in the L&D or HRTech space
  • Strong understanding of corporate learning environments and QCTO-aligned offerings
  • Big-picture thinker who thrives on autonomy and high expectations
  • Experience working with large corporate clients at boardroom level
  • Comfortable navigating long sales cycles and high-pressure targets
  • Exceptional presentation, proposal development, and negotiation skills
  • Able to travel as needed (local and international)

Bonus If You Have

  • An existing client book or network in target sectors
  • Experience launching new solutions or penetrating new markets
  • Previous experience building and leading sales teams
