Business Development Consultant

About the position

The main purpose of this position is to actively support our focus on opportunities for Energy Solutions Division and Group Business Development in the allocated geographical areas of responsibility. The main focus will be on generator sales however, the other solutions on offer through Energy Solutions Division must also be promoted

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with technical queries.

• Continuously improving internal systems and procedures.

• Monitor engineering developments and new projects within the engineering and energy sectors.

• Sales and Business Development

• Proposals

• Mentoring and Training Guidance

• Projects

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Five years' experience in the diesel generator industry.
• Five years' experience in diesel generator installation requirements.
• Knowledge or formal qualification in electrical installation bylaws for diesel generators.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Syspro knowledge to confirm stock availability will be an advantage.
• MS Projects knowledge will also be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of reputable and reliable equipment and service suppliers in the industry.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• A code 8 driver's license.

• A valid passport.

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

• Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, including formal communications and making presentations.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
• Ability to work well in a team setting.
• Must have excellent technical and communication skills.
• Good telephone manner.
• The ability to work under pressure.
• A keen sense of urgency and a willingness to learn additional job related skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Predominantly out of the office but still based in Johannesburg, Energy Solutions Division. A fair amount of travel will be required.
• Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.
• Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.
