About the position

Business Development Consultant
POSITION PURPOSE

  • The company is seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Consultant to join their newly established sales team.
  • In this exciting role, you will play a pivotal role in securing new corporate clients seeking impactful ESD & SED solutions.
  • You will be expected to exceed set targets and consistently exceed client expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably within the consulting or professional services industry.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and achieving revenue goals.
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) and
  • Socio-Economic Development (SED) principles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build rapport and connect with people at all levels, including executives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (ideally Zoho CRM).
  • A passion for social impact and a commitment to sustainable development (desired).

POSITION OUTPUTS

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify and qualify potential B2B clients with a need for ESD and SED programs.
  • Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations that showcase the value proposition of MEC's ESD and SED facilitation services.
  • Effectively communicate client needs and challenges to the implementation team, ensuring solutions are tailored and meet client priorities.
  • Negotiate and close new business deals with key decision-makers at corporate clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the overall business development strategy.
  • Participate in industry events and conferences to network and generate new leads.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of B-BBEE requirements and their application in ESD programs.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends in ESD, SED, and the broader South African economic landscape.
