About the position
ENVIRONMENT:
A pioneering leader in financial technology is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Hunter to join their dynamic team. In this key role, you will be responsible for accelerating the growth of their merchant network and expanding their presence in the competitive payments market. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in sales, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and a strong ability to close deals with new partners. A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, along with 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role—ideally within the fintech or payments industry.
DUTIES:
Identify and Prospect New Business Opportunities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the payment market and identify potential merchant partners.
- Use a combination of outbound and inbound strategies to generate leads and build a robust pipeline of prospects.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and areas for expansion.
Build and Maintain Relationships:
- Engage with key decision-makers within target organizations to establish strong relationships.
- Present and pitch the company’s payment solutions to prospective merchants, tailoring the value proposition to their specific needs.
Close New Partnerships:
- Negotiate and finalize agreements with new merchant partners, ensuring favourable terms and alignment with company goals.
- Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
Collaborate Internally:
- Work closely with the marketing, product, and account management teams to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new merchants.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and provide regular updates to management.
- Analyse sales performance and market trends to refine sales strategies and identify new opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field and or
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably within the fintech or payments industry.
- Proven track record of successfully closing deals and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience working with payments integrations will be highly beneficial
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales tracking tools.
