About the position

Duties & Responsibilities

• Explore and generate business opportunities via tenders and meet set targets.
• Explore and generate business opportunities via engagement with the external market and clients and meet set targets.
• Project management and administration, and support to the Business Manager/portfolio.
• Reporting.
• Development of a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
• Conducting research to identify new markets and customer needs.
• Arranging business meetings with prospective clients.
• Conceptualisation of clients' needs and development of proposals.
• Promoting the company's products/services addressing or predicting clients' objectives.
• Building long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
• Preparing contracts and ensuring adherence to governance principles.

Education and qualifications:

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• A tertiary qualification of at least 3 years in duration/ degree, preferably in the areas of Business Management/Commerce/Marketing (NQF Level 7).
• Valid driver's licence.
• South African citizen.

Knowledge, skills and experience (minimum of 3-5 years'):

• Business Development (Sales/Marketing/Consulting)
• Contract research.
• Project and Contract management.
• Tender compilation, drafting proposals (unsolicited proposals), quotations and report writing.
• Generation of business intelligence on clients, industries and market segments.
• Advanced research methodology, budget compilation and writing capability.
• Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
• Analytical skills.
• Advanced computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
