Senior Business Analyst (12-Month Contract)

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a high-impact project focused on AI-driven demand forecasting and supply chain optimisation. This role will play a key part in delivering a forecasting solution (including exposure to tools such as Relex) within a retail environment.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and technical specialists to drive requirements, improve processes, and ensure successful delivery across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the discovery phase, including business case input and high-level requirements
- Plan and strategise the BA approach across project phases
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder sessions
- Conduct impact assessments across systems and processes
- Elicit, analyse, and document requirements (BRDs, functional specs)
- Define and manage epics, features, and user stories with acceptance criteria
- Map and optimise as-is and to-be processes, including gap analysis
- Support and manage UAT, testing, and defect resolution
- Develop and deliver training and user enablement
- Provide post-implementation support (BAU)
Requirements
- Certified Business Analyst with 7+ years' experience
- Proven experience in a retail environment
- Strong exposure to supply chain processes, particularly demand planning/forecasting
- Experience working across multiple projects
- Solid experience with stakeholder engagement and facilitation
- Strong documentation skills (BRDs, process flows, user stories)
Advantageous
- Exposure to AI-driven forecasting tools (e.g. Relex)
- Experience in Agile and/or Waterfall environments
- Background in data-driven or analytics-focused projects
Working Model & Additional Info
- Based in Woodstock, Cape Town (primarily onsite, 1 day WFH)
- Overtime may be required and will be pre-approved
- 12-month contract, dependent on project timelines
