About the position

My client based in Bellville is currently looking for a Business Analyst to join their team on a contract basis.

IT/ Finances

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification or certification/diploma in Business Analysis (industry recognised)
• Additional studies in Finance would be an advantage
• 3-5 years' experience as a Business Analyst
• 2-3 years' experience in the Short-Term Insurance (STI) industry (or strong understanding of STI)
• Experience with data-oriented solutions, SQL, and BI tools (e.g., Qlik)
• Experience with Model-Driven Design & Repository-Based Modelling tools (preferably Enterprise Architect)
• Familiarity with Agile methodology and SDLC processes

Responsibilities

• Facilitate discovery and documentation of business requirements
• Translate requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams
• Collaborate with developers to define agile feature specifications and technical solutions
• Maintain data and process models in SPARX Enterprise Architect and use these in SOPs
• Query databases with SQL to analyse data patterns and identify quality issues
• Support remediation efforts through both automated and manual processes
• Work on solutions across underwriting, claims, and policy life-cycle with broker integration
• Prepare requirements specifications and participate in solution design
• Define success criteria for testing and ensure adequate test coverage
• Analyse and decompose relevant business processes to understand system impact
• Assist in solution delivery, training, and system testing when needed

• Proficiency in repository-based modelling tools (Enterprise Architect preferred)
