Business Analyst (12-Month Contract)

Are you a systems-savvy problem solver with a passion for insurance tech? We're looking for an Business Analyst to lead the deployment and configuration of complex insurance platforms. This role blends technical precision with business insight, ensuring seamless integration and long-term system performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
Required Experience:
- 3-6 years in insurance tech implementation or systems integration.
- Experience with platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Tial, Sapiens.
- Proficiency in REST/SOAP APIs, SQL, XML/JSON.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Solid understanding of short-term insurance products.
- Familiarity with FSCA, POPIA, and other compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and techno-functional capabilities.
- Knowledge of IT architecture: object-oriented design, multi-tier applications, database design, and SQL.
- Ability to align customer requirements with system functionality.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customize system functionality using IDIT Setup Wizards (Product Designer, Security Manager, Workflow Builder, Document Manager, Rule Editor).
- Configure insurance products, covers, underwriting rules, clauses, and product parameters.
- Manage user roles, privileges, and organizational hierarchies.
- Build and optimize workflows: actions, events, queues, escalations, and correspondences.
- Design and manage document templates, tags, and communication types (files, SMS, email).
- Configure payment plans, GL mapping, and dunning steps.
- Maintain claims-related data: loss events, litigation setup, damage codes, reserves, agendas.
- Manage reference tables and perform bulk uploads.
- Adjust system parameters and define/update business rules.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts using setup workbooks; maintain and update them.
- Create agreements (e.g., commission, collective).
- Conduct unit testing prior to handover.
- Use Promotion Manager for SQL-based promotions.
- Support Dev-SIT release cycles and resolve setup defects.
