We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our clients Durban team. This role is suited to a data-driven and commercially minded individual who can combine business analysis, business intelligence, data warehousing, reporting, dashboards, process improvement and project support.
The successful candidate will play a key role in improving business decision-making through accurate data, meaningful insights, strong reporting structures and well-managed business improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analytics & Business Intelligence
You will be responsible for developing and managing the business data warehouse, including the ETL processes required to ensure accurate and consistent reporting.
Key duties will include:
- Developing and managing reporting platforms, dashboards and analytical models.
- Working with cross-functional teams to define and deliver meaningful business metrics.
- Providing insights on trends, optimisation opportunities, growth areas and business improvements.
- Owning and supporting the business intelligence strategy.
- Managing and supporting master data processes to ensure data quality, accuracy and consistency.
- Translating data into clear, practical insights for business stakeholders.
Business Analysis & Process Improvement
The role will also require strong business analysis capability, including reviewing current processes, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting implementation.
Key duties will include:
- Evaluating business processes and identifying areas for improvement.
- Gathering, documenting and rationalising business requirements.
- Working with internal teams and third-party application providers to implement and support solutions.
- Managing small to large projects while maintaining strong project governance.
- Supporting change management across the business.
- Preparing business cases for improvement initiatives, including ROI considerations.
- Driving continuous improvement and operational optimisation.
Minimum Requirements & Key Skills and Competencies
- Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Data Science, IT or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in data analysis, business analytis or business analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of computer systems, databases and business process mapping.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modelling and ETL processes.
- Understanding of project management methodology and related concepts.
- Project management qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
