About the position
Our Innovative Analysis Team is seeking a Business Analyst (Credit - Murex & Derivatives) for contract opportunities within the financial services sector.
The Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting and enhancing credit systems within the Murex platform, with a strong focus on derivatives-related credit exposure.
This role requires a solid understanding of derivative products, credit risk processes, and Murex configuration to ensure accurate risk and limit management across trading and risk functions
Key Responsibilities and/or output areas include, but are not limited to:
- Define business and system requirements for Murex Credit functionality with a focus on derivatives exposure and credit risk processes.
- Analyze, document, and optimize end-to-end credit processes, comparing current vs. future state.
- Assess the impact of new business or regulatory requirements on upstream/downstream systems and the broader credit architecture.
- Translate credit and derivatives business needs into functional specifications, reports, and Murex configurations.
- Collaborate with Traders, Risk, and IT teams to ensure accurate credit exposure measurement and integration of derivatives into credit workflows.
- Support project delivery by assisting with system design, UAT, and integration testing.
- Ensure alignment with the overall Credit Business Architecture and enterprise standards.
- Identify and propose system and process improvements across credit, risk, and trading operations.
- Document business processes and maintain traceability from business requirement through to delivered solution.
- Strong understanding of derivative products (e.g. swaps, options, forwards) and how they impact credit risk
- Familiarity with the trade lifecycle and how it integrates into credit and risk systems
Education Qualification:
- Matric
- University Qualification, Certificate or Diploma, aligned to relevant experience - Relevant Bachelors' Degree / Diploma / recognised qualification from an accredited tertiary institution.
Skills:
- Formal or practical experience in the BABOK
- Multiple process notations
- Business Writing Skills
- Presentation and Facilitation Skills
- Data Modelling based on Entity Diagram Mapping
- Repository-Based Modelling tools i.e., ARIS
- Business Change Life Cycle
- System Development Life Cycle (Waterfall, Agile, RUP)
- Quality and Risk Management
- ACORD Framework, SOA, TOGAF, ARCHIMATE
Experience with tools such as Confluence and Jira would be advantageous
