Business Analyst
Role Purpose
Bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions by analysing data, processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and drive organisational change. Translating business requirements and specifications into effective and efficient operational systems by optimising, improving and analysing business processes and gathering, translating and validating user requirements. Ensure that solutions to business problems and requirements are effective, reliable, of quality, sustainable, efficient and deliver on business and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Delivery (Internal Processes)
- Perform comprehensive business analysis activities to translate strategic and operational needs into actionable solutions:
- Business Analysis Planning: Conduct stakeholder analysis; plan, monitor and report on BA activities and status; execute requirements gathering and validation.
Technical Support & Data Enablement
- Extract data from multiple sources and analyse information to define reporting requirements effectively and guide business stakeholders.
- Connect to diverse data touchpoints and perform data transformations to support software-related projects and reporting initiatives.
Project & Requirements Delivery
- Manage business expectations and prioritise work effectively to ensure projects and requirements are delivered within agreed scope, quality standards and timelines.
- Demonstrate agility and flexibility while treating requirement changes as a controlled change management process to protect scope and timelines.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner closely with business users by investigating discrepancies, root causes and providing timely support and resolution.
- Engage Business Process Owners and Key Users to translate their information and operational requirements into clear, actionable business requirements and reporting solutions.
Finance & Additional Duties
- Provide partial budget input and cost estimates based on project scope (no primary budget ownership or strategy formulation responsibility).
- Perform any other duties as reasonably assigned, including participation in formal/informal BA meetings, JAD sessions and workshops.
Requirements - Diploma IT / Computer Science or FTI Business Analysis (or similar), Essential
- Business Analysis, 6 years, Essential
- Financial Services Industry, 6 years Essential
- Data Analysis / Business Intelligence, 6 years Advantageous
- Data Warehousing / Business Intelligence, 6 years, Advantageous
