About the position

Introduction

Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, your main responsibilty will be food safety and quality assurance of raw materials and or products.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Check and verify factory documentation as required
• Maintain up to date database of agreed raw material specifications, certification, self-assesment questionnaires and related documentation
• Oversee sample selections
• Participate in sensory evaluation on finished products and report as required
• Daily Critical Control Points verification
• Conduct traceability and mock recalls regularly as per operational requirement
• Incorporate new suppliers and raw materials into system as approved by line manager
• Act as member of food safety team and attend meetings as required
• Conduct internal audits as per schedule
• Document non-conformances, communicate and obtain sign off on completion
• Prepare for external audits and ensure non-conformances raised in audits are corrected and signed off
• Review specifications and documents to ensure compliance against regulations
• Reporting on daily, weekly, and monthly operational requirements as per agreed
• Identify continual improvement strategies
• Action agreed quality initiatives ensuring that they align with processes and systems
• Implement corrective actions identified in specified time
• Oversee management of laboratory equipment and consumables
• Verify weekly stock control sheets for laboratories
• Food Safety and Quality data training
• Oversee Food Safety and Quality training program

Desired Experience & Qualification

• BSC Food Science Degree
• Good knowledge of Food Safety Management principles and Good Manufacturing Practices
• A sound knowledge of Food processing
• Microsoft Office Literacy
