About the position

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our client, a leading player in the short-term insurance sector, is seeking a Broker Consultant to join their Cape Town team. The successful candidate will focus specifically on Gap Cover products, providing support and guidance to brokers and intermediaries, driving business growth, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with a panel of brokers and intermediaries.
• Promote and sell Gap Cover insurance solutions to meet clients' needs.
• Provide technical training and product knowledge sessions to brokers.
• Assist with onboarding new brokers and ensure compliance with company processes.
• Drive sales targets by supporting brokers with marketing material, product launches, and roadshows.
• Monitor and report on broker performance and identify areas for growth and improvement.
• Provide regular feedback to internal teams on market trends and competitor activity.
• Resolve broker and client queries related to Gap Cover policies quickly and professionally.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and administrative teams to ensure smooth service delivery.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Fluency in Afrikaans.
• Matric (Grade 12) essential.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Insurance, Business, or Marketing is advantageous.
• Fit and Proper
• Minimum 2 experience in a Broker Consultant or similar role in the Short-Term Insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of Gap Cover insurance products and how they interact with medical aids.
• Established broker network in the Cape Town region is highly beneficial.
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
