About the position
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Under the guidance and support of the Marketing Manager, effectively manage select activities of the brand marketing plan within Southern Africa in order to ensure that the brand continues to grow.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in development of the brand plan activities
- Execute national marketing activities below the line and support above the line executions in relation to the approved brand plan and promotions calendar
- Liaise with advertising agencies, strategic alliance partners and suppliers on advertising and promotional campaigns
- Ensure all marketing collateral delivers on objectives in conjunction with the relevant agencies
- Support the brand CRM program, encouraging customer retention and customer loyalty.
- Manage database acquisition through acquisition campaigns as well as through building and maintaining 3 rd party vouchering partnerships
- Assist in management of brand sponsorships and CSR brand programs
- Provide forecasts for promotions and new products to minimize write off costs
- Assist in driving menu optimisation with regards to pricing strategy, menu mix and channel margin management to achieve targeted average GPs and deliver value to the brand's customer base
- Support and assist in coordinating national menu roll-outs and promotional material.
- Assist in delivering on the brand's digital and social media activities
- Utilise consumer research to gain consumer insights that drive decisions
- Analyse sales data and report on the performance of promotions and products
- Evaluate competitor pricing and report on a regular basis
- Ensure locality marketing toolkits are aligned to brand strategy and objectives
- Ensure websites and information provided about the brand, promotions CSR, locations, menu, etc. are updated and relevant.
- Help co-ordinate the brand's National Conference, National Franchise Forum (NFF) meetings and regional roadshows.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Formal Education
- Completed Matric / Grade 12
- Degree in Marketing Management or similar.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Brand Manager, preferably in the FMCG / retail / food franchising industry.
- Understanding and exposure of South African media environment.
- Knowledge of digital marketing and social media platforms.
- Brand building and sales exposure.
- Knowledge of the emerged market.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Numerate and computer literacy (inclusive of PowerPoint and Excel skills)
- Multi-task orientated
- Deadline driven and Project management skills
- Good analytical skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
