About the position
One of South Africa’s largest independent car hire companies, is looking for a dynamic and driven Branch Manager to oversee their operations at Cape Town International Airport.
THE TOP PRIORITIES OF THE ROLE ARE:
- Drive and achieve branch revenue targets.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, with a strong focus on Net Promoter Score (NPS).
- Maximise fleet utilization and ensure quick turnaround times.
- Manage costs effectively and operate within budget.
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes staff engagement and retention.
THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE ARE:
NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric and 3–5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role—preferably within car rental, retail, hospitality, or logistics.
- A proven track record in a customer service or sales-driven environment with strong leadership, interpersonal, and coaching abilities.
- A valid South African ID and driver’s licence, with the ability to commute to and from work reliably and without issue.
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must be willing to work on-siteand adapt to business needs, including extended hours, weekends, and public holidays.
HIGHLY BENEFICIAL IF YOU ALSO HAVE:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Operations management
- Supervise daily rental operations and vehicle logistics, ensuring smooth check-in/check-out processes.
- Ensure fleet readiness, cleanliness, safety, and legal compliance.
- Implement and uphold company processes and quality standards.
Staff leadership
- Recruit, train, develop, and manage branch team members.
- Create a high-performing, customer-focused team culture.
- Handle scheduling, workload delegation, and performance reviews.
Customer service excellence
- Ensure high standards of customer service and satisfaction, and an efficient customer journey.
- Resolve customer complaints and service issues effectively.
- Build loyalty through consistent, positive experiences.
- Develop a customer-first culture within the team.
Sales and business development
- Achieve branch sales targets and KPIs (e.g., upselling, waivers, upgrades).
- Promote additional products and services to customers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate and walk-in clients.
- Identify local marketing opportunities and community engagement.
Financial management & reporting
- Monitor and manage branch budget, costs, and financial performance
- Manage cost controls and increase branch profitability.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management.
- Track KPIs and adjust strategies to improve results.
