Our client, a leading speciality chemical Manufacturing company based Botswana, is looking to fill the position of Branch Manager.
Purpose of the Role:
To achieve and/or exceed individual sales and C budget, through sound product knowledge and excellent sales skills. To build and retain excellent customer relations. To ensure that professional and business ethic when dealing with customers. Comply with and contribute to the company's ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management system.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote, develop and increase sales of company's products and company's services:
- Expand customer base.
- Maintain and increase business relationships with existing customers.
- Plan and execute sales calls economically, logistically and with the most impact.
- Do this according to your designated customers and areas.
- Customers include:
- Construction customers
- Architects
- Engineers
- Government departments
- Local Government
- Applicators
As a sales representative, always exercise the basic salesmanship skills:
- Route and call planning.
- Prospective new customers.
- Call objectives.
- Establish customer needs.
- Present benefits to customers.
- Product knowledge .
- Handling objections:
- Recognizing buying signals
- Cross selling
- Closing the sale
- Retaining customers
Meet and exceed the C sales budgets / targets.
Monitor Business Environment and Market Trends:
- Monitor the business environment and market trends.
- Report trends to the line manager.
- Report monthly predictions and oppositions activities in the market.
Excellent Product Knowledge and Marketing Knowledge:
- Keep current with all the new product information.
- Have an in-depth technical knowledge of all the company's products.
- Write and submit specifications for product applications where required (These specifications must be approved by the business development manager).
- Train customers to extend their knowledge of the company's products and usage.
- Follow marketing plan actions.
Monthly Reports:
- Keep the business development manager informed of all activities and supply him/her with all relevant reports.
- Report on monthly predictions and opposition activities in the market.
Organizing of Seminars and Launches:
- Plan and conduct product and application systems seminars to customers.
Manage Key Accounts and expenses
- Assist the credit controller with the collection of all money owed to the company.
- Keep the financial manager informed of any development that may affect the ability of a debtor to fulfil his/her obligations to the company.
- Control of debtor's account.
- Achieve the target of 60 days with all accounts.
- Control of expenses related to sales.
- Push small contractors and construction products through dealers.
General Admin:
- Manage the work teams (performance evaluations, delegation, training, implication in problem solving and decision making).
- Clearly define and assign the duties and responsibilities and the authorities of all staff.
- All staff members must be in possession of clear MBO targets and a detailed updated job description to be prepared in January each calendar year.
- Conduct performance appraisals with each subordinate each January which will be used as a basis for measuring performance and establishing training needs, promotions and development programs.
- The selections and recruitment of new staff in line with the Equity plan.
- Undertake such additional duties which may from time to time be assigned to the employee in the discharge of his/her duties.
- Ensure that a correct and proper image of the company is maintained at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate / Matric
- 5-10 years relevant experience
- NQF 4 Qualification
- Matric
- Tertiary Sales qualification (or relevant)
- Sound Sales experience
- Experience of marketing of products
- Customer service experience
Special Requirements / Competencies:
- Regular and on time attendance
- Will be required to work overtime when required
- Overseas travel may be required
