About the position
Our client is seeking a Junior Property Bookkeeper to join the Port Elizabeth team,
· Bookkeeping up to balance sheet
· Maintain accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries for multiple properties.
· Process rent rolls, tenant receipts, municipal accounts, and reconciliations.
· Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements.
· Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
· Manage supplier invoices, payments, and ensure proper allocations.
· Monitor arrears and issue statements and reminders to tenants.
· Capture and track utility readings and ensure correct billing.
· Assist with VAT submissions and ensure SARS compliance.
· Maintain lease and property documentation records.
· Liaise with property managers, tenants, suppliers, and auditors.
Requirements· Grade 12
· Finance qualification preferred
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role, gained in the property industry.
· Experience with bookkeeping up to Balance sheet
· Proficient in property management and accounting software with preference given to WeConnectU experience
· Knowledge of South African property legislation, rental income accounting, and VAT.
