About the position
A well-established company-based Sandton is seeking a Bookkeeper to support the Financial Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping or Finance
- 3–5 years' bookkeeping experience in a busy finance environment
- Strong reconciliations experience
- Experience processing creditors, payments and bank reconciliations
- Working knowledge of VAT and SARS requirements
- Experience with foreign payments and imports would be advantageous
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Process creditors, invoices, payments and journals
- Perform bank, supplier and creditor reconciliations
- Manage weekly payment runs and petty cash
- Assist with VAT submissions and SARS compliance
- Support month-end and year-end processes
- Prepare financial reports and maintain accurate records
- Assist with audits and accounting functions up to Trial Balance
- Provide general finance and administrative support
- Strong reconciliation and bookkeeping skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
