Bookkeeper

About the position

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Bookkeeper's responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Performing financial functions of the company including processing, analysing and reporting
• Creditors
• Debtors
• Cashbook processing
• Bank reconciliation
• Journals
• Maintain accuracy of general ledger accounts
• Preparation of Management pack for FM to review
• Year-end adjustments and facilitating audit requirements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant legal requirements
• Ensure all reconciliations are completed and submitted for payment timeously
• Ensure all statutory returns are submitted and paid timeously (SARS VAT, EMP201)
• Processing payroll

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BCom Accounting or similar qualification essential
• 2 - 5 years' experience in a Bookkeeping role
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and tax laws
• Strong financial processing, analysis, reconciliation and reporting skills
• Sage Pastel and Sage Payroll experience is essential
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication, feedback and organisation skills
• Detail orientated
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Experience in a manufacturing industry will be beneficial
• Experience in working with stock, preferably in an import / buy and sell environment
