About the position
Our client, a leading Telecommunications company based in Durban, is looking to fill the position of Bookkeeper.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping to trial balance.
- Monthly cashbook processing and bank reconciliation.
- Debtors and creditor's function.
- Preparing and managing purchase orders.
- Capturing of supplier invoices; creating new accounts, dealing with supplier queries.
- Sending out statements.
- Verifying information for supplier invoices.
- Ordering and management of stock.
- Processing for VAT returns.
- Year-end journals.
- Assisting in compiling audit files.
- Schedules and reconciliations.
- Admin and filing management.
- Related parties - intercompany invoicing / journals and ensuring balances agree at month end.
- Assisting the Accountant/Financial manager/directors as and when necessary.
- Maintaining fixed asset registers.
- Assisting in the preparation of management packs.
- Ad hoc administrative duties.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate
- Relevant Financial Tertiary Qualification in accounting or studying towards accounting qualification
- Xero Accounting
- Pastel Evolution
- Familiar with SARS system and Efiling
- Experience with online banking

- Good verbal and written communication skills
