About the position

ENVIRONMENT:

Our client provides template-based websites to over 500 estate agencies on a monthly subscription basis. They are seeking an Accountant/Bookkeeper to oversee our client's financial operations and enhance profitability. Responsibilities will include invoicing, managing creditors and debtors, bank reconciliation, processing salaries and sales commissions, maintaining accurate books up to trial balance, and handing them over to their external accountants. Additionally, the candidate will handle VAT, PAYE, UIF, and update financial reports. This role reports directly to the owner and requires a Bachelor's degree in Commerce.

DUTIES:

• Manage the transition from QuickBooks to Xero.
• Oversee and check automated invoicing processes.
• Process salaries using Simple Pay.
• Manage arrears, including making calls and sending emails to clients.
• Handle bookkeeping for our client, two other entities, and a small property portfolio.
• Prepare and hand over financial records to external accountants.
• Analyse, manage, and drive revenue and profit.
• Manage existing business and accounting processes.
• Implement new accounting processes as needed.
• Automate accounting tasks wherever possible.
• Optimize the structure of the accounting system.
• Maintain honesty, professionalism, organization, efficiency, and competence.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce.
• Experience in bookkeeping, payroll, taxes & SARS submissions.
• Strong computer skills.
• Strong spreadsheet skills
