Bookkeeper

About the position

Our client is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team.

Duties include:

• Responsible for capturing monthly journals
• Update cashbook daily and reconciliation to be performed weekly/monthly
• Including assisting with loading of payments
• Follow up on processing of entries on projects until closure
• Review and submit monthly reporting
• Submit cash flow (daily and weekly)
• Monthly VAT return and reconciliation
• Monthly Reconciliation, maintenance, and documentation for all Balance Sheet General Ledger accounts
• Assist with the upkeep of a healthy debtors and creditors book
• Follow-up on open purchase orders to ensure costs are accounted in the correct period
• Maintain Fixed Asset Registers
• Assist with annual budgets
• Assist with stock taking
• Assist with various audits
• Ad hoc requests

Requirements:

• Minimum Matric or equivalent
• Relevant diploma or degree in accounting
• Minimum of Five years' experience in a related role
• Accounting background experience
• Exposure to broad accounting from inputting date to trial balance.
• Experience preferable over qualification
• Exposure to high volumes of data and departments
• Able to work independently as part of a team, with minimum supervision.
• High level of time management skills required.
• Well organized, sober habits and high attention to detail.
• Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) is essential
