You love nothing more than being hands on and doing the transactional part of the bookkeeping function. You are meticulous and have great attention to detail and love working in a family type environment.

What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)

This is a hands on bookkeeping role where you will be doing the books for one of their clients that have a few companies, one of which is a mining company. You'll take charge of the creditors, VAT, bank recons, load payments, capturing of all financial transactions and so on. You'll liaise a lot with the client via phone and email and there will be the occasional visit to another region.

Where you'll be doing it

A small but well established and respected accounting firm based in Green Point that is known for their commitment to excellence and unwavering dedication to clients. You'll report in to and work closely with the Owner and MD while being surrounded by 14 colleagues who come from diverse backgrounds of all ages, a close knit team that are family orientated. You'll be office based daily, in Green Point where parking is available and working hours are 08:30-17:00. The company can be described as fast paced but an informal feel to it and most of the employees have been there a number of years.

What you'll need

A minimum of a matric qualification with at least 5 years hands on relevant finance experience up to Trial Balance level with extensive experience with VAT. Our first preference is for someone with the accounting package Xero experience. Alternatively, other Accounting packages will then do. You'll need to have good computer skills especially Excel. We're looking for a team player and someone that is customer centric and able to deal with clients directly that are focused and to the point - so you'll need to be confident in nature.
