About the position

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to hire an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, a solid understanding of accounting processes, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Hospitality experience is an advantage.

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded to trial balance.
  
• Prepare and process reconciliations for suppliers, banks, and credit cards.
  
• Manage VAT submissions and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  
• Process payments and maintain accurate records of outgoing and incoming funds.
  
• Assist with month-end close procedures and reporting.
  
• Collaborate with internal teams and provide support on financial matters.
  
• Identify and resolve discrepancies and provide solutions to financial issues.
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of bookkeeping experience (hospitality experience advantageous)
  
• Strong knowledge of reconciliations, VAT, and payment processes.
  
• Solid understanding of accounting principles up to trial balance.
  
• Proficiency in Xero, Pastel, and Excel.
  
• Highly accurate, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
  
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
