About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join the Port Elizabeth team,
· Bookkeeping to trial balance
· Maintain accurate records of all daily financial transactions (cashbooks, journals, and ledgers).
· Process supplier and customer invoices and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
· Perform bank reconciliations and monthly account reconciliations.
· Process VAT returns and ensure compliance with SARS regulations.
· Assist with payroll preparation and related statutory submissions (PAYE, UIF, SDL).
· Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
· Process cashbook
· Maintain fixed asset register
· Capture and maintain records on accounting software
· Support external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
· Manage petty cash and perform ad hoc financial tasks as required.
Requirements· Grade 12
· Finance qualification preferred
· 3+ years of proven bookkeeping experience in a similar role.
· Proficient in Pastel Accounting and MS Office
· Experience with foreign debtors and creditors
