About the position

Boilermaker Duties & Responsibilities

• Assembly and installation: Building, installing, and assembling boilers, tanks, and other large vessels using metal components.
• Repair and maintenance: Inspecting, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on boilers and other equipment to ensure proper function.
• Blueprint reading: Interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Metalworking: Cutting, shaping, and welding metal parts using tools like cutting torches and welding machines.
• Testing and inspection: Conducting tests on finished products to check for leaks and defects and ensuring compliance with safety and industry codes.
• Safety compliance: Following all safety regulations, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and working safely in challenging conditions like heights and confined spaces.

Our client based in Saldanha is looking to acquire experienced Boilermakers for one of their Sites in Saldanha. The successful candidates should possesses the following skills and experience:

Minimum Requirements




- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have 3 to 5 years working experience as a Boilermaker
- Trade Test is essential
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Accuracy and a high level of attention to detail
- Reading technical drawings is essential.
- Skills in welding and cutting
- A strong mechanical aptitude and excellent hand-eye coordination is essential
- Experience with a variety of hand and power tools
- Must be willing to work in challenging conditions, including high heat, noisy environments, and potentially confined or high-aerial spaces.
