About the position
A leading plastics injection moulding manufacturing company specialising in the manufacturing and distribution of rigid plastic products requires the above to inspect, test, and ensure the quality of blow-moulded products, identifying defects or deviations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the production process.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Technical knowledge of blow moulding and plastic processing is preferred for this role.
- Must be familiar with inspection tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers).
- Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to read technical drawings specifications.
- Must have good communication and documentation skills.
- Previous experience having worked in a Blow Moulding QC Inspector or Technician role working within a plastic injection or blow moulding factory or plant is essential for the role.
- The successful candidate must have normal colour vision with no colour vision deficiencies, having 20/20 visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses.
- Experience in quality inspection, testing, and process control in injection or blow molding environments is preferred with familiarity with rigid plastic products, tooling, and manufacturing specifications.
- Strong knowledge of blow moulding processes, plastics materials, and defect types is pref.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001or other quality management systems is advantageous.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Inspecting, testing, and ensuring the quality of blow-molded products, identifying defects or deviations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the production process.
- Inspecting blow-molded parts at start-up, in-process, and final stages.
- Checking for defects such as flash, short shots, bubbles, warpage, sink marks, colour variation, burn marks, and weld lines.
- Approving initial samples and first-off parts before production runs.
- Ensuring raw materials (resins, masterbatch, additives) meet required standards.
- Verifying machine parameters and production settings align with specifications.
- Maintaining inspection records, test results, and quality control documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry regulations.
- Ensuring QC work instructions are adhered to.
- Identifying non-conforming products and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- Collaborating with operators, mold setters, and supervisors to resolve quality issues.
- Performing customer-mandated testing (e.g., dimensional checks, leak tests).
- Preparing reports and communicate findings to the QC Manager and production team.
- Assisting QC Manager in controlling and managing the NCR System
- Measuring product dimensions using calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other quality tools.
- Preparing daily, weekly, and batch inspection reports.
