Blister machine Operator

About the position

Minimum qualifications

• Grade12(Matric)isoftenpreferredorrequired,dependingontheemployer.
• Basic English communication and reading skills.
• Basic mathematics and record-keeping skills.
• Previous manufacturing or packaging experience is   an advantage.
• Pharmaceutical manufacturing or GMP training is beneficial for pharmaceutical positions.

2. Technical skills

• Abilitytosetup,operate,andmonitorblisterpackagingmachines.
• Knowledge of machine start up, shutdown, and basic trouble shooting.
• Ability to check packaging materials, such as PVC, aluminium foil, and sealing foil.
• Ability to inspect blister packs for defects, such as poor sealing, damaged cavities, missing tablets, or incorrect printing.
• Understanding of production targets and quality standards.
• Abilitytocompleteproductionrecordsandreportmachinefaults.

3. Main job responsibilities

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practice(GMP)and Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs).
• Clean and sanitise the machine and production area.
• Perform line clearance before starting a new batch or product.
• Checkbatchnumbers,expirydates,andprintedpackagingdetails.
• Monitor machine speed, temperature ,and sealing quality.
• Record production quantities, rejects, downtime, and material usage.
• Report breakdowns and quality problems to the supervisor or maintenance team.
• Wear the required personal protective equipment(PPE).
• Meet daily production targets while maintaining productquality.
