About the position
Our client is seeking a Bid Specialist to drive the end-to-end development of high-quality proposals, tenders and RFP/RFI submissions within the renewable energy and commercial & industrial (C&I) sector. Based in Cape Town, this role is ideal for a strong writer who can manage multiple bids, coordinate stakeholders and turn complex energy offerings into compelling commercial submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end preparation of proposals, tenders and RFP/RFI responses, from initial structure through to final submission.
- Tailor submissions to individual clients, opportunities and evaluation criteria, ensuring all requirements are addressed.
- Translate complex energy products, tariffs and contractual terms into clear, persuasive customer-facing content.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and report on pipeline activity, submissions and outcomes.
Requirements
- 2-3 years' experience in bid/proposal writing, consulting, business development support or a similar commercial role.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality written work to tight deadlines.
- Strong writing, editing, coordination and organisational skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple deadlines.
- Exposure to the energy sector, particularly renewable energy, energy trading or the South African C&I market, will be advantageous.
